First system and going with DA D612D2, have questions

Ok so I have decided to go with the Diamond Audio D612D2 for my sub after reading various reviews. I don't really know much about car audio so i need some help on other products.

AMP: Not too sure about this one, but was wondering if i could run the Phoenix Gold R15.0:1 as it is a bit cheaper than the other one i was looking at Diamond Audio D61000.1. Would the Phoenix Gold have good reliability and meet the power demands of the DA D612D2?

SPEAKERS: Should i stick with all Diamond Audio? I usually like to keep all my components for electronics the same but i don't think it actually makes a difference. I have a 1999 Toyota Camry LE but might upgrade to an Acura later this year so i would like everything to be able to transfer over nicely. I think right now the Camry has 6x9 speakers. I don't think i would need 6x9 any more due to getting a sub. So would 5.25" fit or what would fit in the speaker holes?

Thanks for any responses and input.

I'd go with the D6 1000.1. Great little amp when I had it. As for speakers, I ran the D3 set a while back too and they were decent for the money. Didn't have much midbass but I liked the midrange and the tweeter, thought the tweeter was a bit harsh at times.

Isn't the PG 15.0:1 only stable to 2 Ohms?

And with an RMS output rating of 500w @ 4 Ohm and 1kW @ 2 Ohms you're only real option with that specific sub is to wire it to a 4 Ohm load with the coils in series. That will give it the 500w RMS output @ 4 Ohms and while that's plenty enough to get the D612 working pretty hard....it'll take more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

As for the rest of the speakers in your car - going all Diamond isn't a terrible option.

I'm running all Diamond gear myself excepting my 4ch amp and my HU (obviously DAT doesn't make HUs...) and it sounds fine to me!
