First setup...

Ive got a 1977 Buick Regal...Im 16 and bout to get my license...

THey have wierd trunks...they are big but not very tall...and have a hump in them where the gas tank is under the trunk. So i figured....go 2 12s sealed or 1 12 ported.

I dont want to spend more than 300 on a pair or 250 on a single woofer...

My goals:

Clean bass

Ability to get pretty darn loud

Not sound i like poo

I have an idea of my frontstage, amp, and head unit.

All suggestions welcome. THanks

for your budget of 300 for a pair. I would go with two 12" type Rs. If you wanted something lower budget a pair of Kicker CVRs or Pioneer Premiers TS-1207s. You can get a pair of the budget ones for 120 bucks

pioneer premier 3002 or 3004 spl....good subs for the money...if your leaning towards spl

those premeirs look good...but ive heard sealed is a no go...my trunk is wierd so i would be going 1 12 ported...or 2 12s sealed.

I ran two sealed off a hifonics bs1500d and it slammed.

Of course it was in a 90 camaro hatchback.

those are lookin nice for the price...i heard they get pretty loud...what box would you guys reccomend for them...ported...can they go sealed?

Also what are some good single sub setups that would work well within my posted budget?

I would go with the alpine type r's... that can get pretty freakin loud. But they dont hit the lows that well

Word. So the three hundred bucks is ONLY for the sub? You already have money for everything else? Cause if you give us a overall budget for amp/sub/box(if you're not building your own box) we can give you some pretty sweetass recommendations.

you will need to take the speakers out of the rear deck and possibly take the insulation out that is behind the rear seat. You can 2 15"s in there sealed or 2 12"s in there ported without having a odd shaped custom box. I have an 81 cutlass...almost same trunk
