Hey all,
A friend in comp. audio recommended I come on here and get some ideas about the best and cheapest stuff for what I want to do. So here goes. I have an 05 Scion Tc. I want to get a good set of components, an amp, a single 12" in a ported box (my friend has a guy who does custom builds so size recommendations would be appreciated), and a HU. My budget is roughly 700 dollars. I can do the install myself (I'm actually replacing an old system I installed myself). I am also probably going to get some bulk Fatmat and do the doors, trunk, sidewalls, and floor. On orders from my friend I already got a 0 gauge Kicker hyperflex amp install kit off ebay for like 90 bucks. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated....
**Yeah I'm into STS9, electronica and some rap. I'm open to suggestions about how to get clean bass. I like some punch but I prefer that clarity over raw force. Does that help?
***So I want like 1000-1200 watts. I used to have a single CompVR 12 in a ported box that sounded good off a clarion HU with stock components and no down deadener. Unfortunately that shit got jacked outside a bar in Tampa (funny though cuz the amp had burned out -- I bought it used off a friend, and USAA gave me a full refund, suckas). Do I need to daisy chain two amps -- one for bass and one for the components -- or will one amp work with a good enough HU? Do I need to look into getting a cap and deep cycle battery as well (I have an OEM Toyota right now)?
