the amp i bought calls for 2 gauge wires.....right now i have a 4 gauge wiring kit....can i use that....or would i have to buy a different kit.....what would happen....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

..... Can u use it? yes.
if ur amp REQUIRES that gauge, it could be different, but assuming ur asking the question its fine.

....if i run the 4 gauge for a little bit whats going to happen the amp wont run as efficient as it could?.....im going to get a 2 gauge soon but i want to hook it up now...

more resistance = less power
alright so it just runs at less power....but it can't hurt the amp or sub right?

how much power? Anything under 1000w should be fine with 4 gauge
600w @ 4ohms, 800w @ 2ohms, 1200w at 1ohm....im hooking it up to a cadence dvc 2ohm sub....3000w peak....1500 rms....

4 awg should be fine. However, I vote that you just get a 1/0 gauge wiring kit and trim the part down that has to be inserted into the 2 awg amp inputs. Then you won't have to worry about anything, and if you want to upgrade to more power later you don't have to get new wiring.
