no....i Have, its just from where I learned (online tutorials)....they've always used Mat for kick's....mmmmmkay?

I would actually recommend just sanding down the kicks and then pouring a 50/50 mix of resin and body filler over the kicks. This will fill in the majority of the dips and pits, plus it will be much easier to sand and paint. That will give you the extra stength you need PLUS give you a much easier working surface.

Now that sounds like a good idea.
