First Box Build

I am building my first box. It will be ported since I am looking for SPL and a huge step up from my sealed prefab. Do I have everything I need to build correctly?

Sub- 12" Kicker C12VR (single)

Amp- Profile AP1000M (550 watts @ 2 ohms)

Wood- 3/4" MDF

Screws- 1 5/8" drywall (orange box at Home Depot)

Glue- Loctite Wood Worx, Titebond II, Elmers Wood Glue (which one?)

I have saws, routers, and clamps.

I'd skip the screws if you've got a couple clamps, and I'd agree with the guy in the thread down the page that recommended wood screws over drywall screws if you decide to use them; but after I used them on my first couple I prefered skipping the screws.

You might want to consider some bracing too if you haven't already, it's been a few years since I built a box, people might have come up with something better now, but I always used some scrap 2x2 and braced the long panels and put a few vertical like pillars in the middle of the box. It's probably not critical with that setup, but it can never hurt. If you do put it in, make sure to at least calculate the airspace displaced by the braces and decide if it'd make a big enough difference in tuning or airspace requirements to warrant a slight change in the box dimensions.
