First Battery Bank and HO alt

I recommend fusing ANY wire connected to the positive terminal of the battery, close to the battery.
The alt had a tiny post and you are landing big wire. Your route won't be as good as factory and will be subject to damage.

if you're not running competitions or don't know in depth about electricity it's best to fuse everything appropiately, including the alternator. A lot of us don't fuse our alternator due to the voltage drop, but we understand the risk of doing this and weigh it vs the benefits.

the people telling you that they don't run fuses at all are trying to squeeze every bit of power out of their batteries and alt as possible, just because they haven't had problems yet, doesn't mean they never will.

Is it better to ground the rear battery's to the frame of the vehicle or to have a couple of runs to the front battery ?Sorry for the thread jack.
Its all preference and setup.

If its a separate electrical setup then straight to the frame is only option.

If its all a single bank including stock location, then grounding front and back wont cause an issue until having to disconnect one battery.

In a correctly wired bank you will only lose .01-.02 voltage, sometimes less..

This is due to fusing.

It causes an issue in extreme classes since doing bass runs WILL pop fuses since the amps will try to pull to much current.

Alot of classes require fusing.
