Finished my install in my 2005 F-150 SuperCrew:
Headunit: Alpine CDA-9887 w/iPod cable
Front stage: Boston Pro60s (separate and bi-amped)
Front stage amp: Alpine MRV-F545
Sub: Alpine SWX-1043D downfired in .72 ft.^3 sealed enclosure(net after sub displacement)
Sub Amp: Alpine MRD-M1005
No rear fill
75 ft.^2 of eDead on all 4 doors and rear wall
Egg carton foam behind mids and modeling clay used on mid templates
I have to say it sounds absolutely amazing. I have adjusted the xovers to make sure all the speakers are getting the appropriate signal but other than that everything is flat as of now- no TA or EQ adjustments as of yet. And it already sounds better than my previous setup:
Premier 880PRS
TS-C720PRS up front
TS-D681R in rear
Kicker CVX12
Kicker ZX850.4 running mids and highs
Kicker ZX1000.1 running sub
I couldn't be happier. The sound deadening is incredible. What a difference it makes! I am downfiring the sub in a box I built that goes between the center console and the rear seat. I snapped pics of the box build and the sound deadening and a few of the install so I will get them up as soon as I upload them. The bass is so tight and responsive- the SQ of the Type X is amazing. I can't believe how clean and low the response is for a 10" sub in a sealed box. Thanks to those on the forum with all their suggestions on deadening and component configurations. They really helped. I'll get pics up soon!
