Finding the right amp. JBL GT5-2402BR

I guess this is the second part of my question.

By the end of the week I'll own a JBL GT5-2402BR

JBL

With the specs at:

3/4" medium-density fiberboard construction covered with carpet

Slipstream slot port

Impedance: 2-ohm

Recommended power: 200-550 watts RMS total (1,600 watts peak power)

Frequency response: 40-200 Hz

I'm looking into this amp here, KENWOOD KAC-7204 2 CHANNEL 1000 WATT

With specs at:

Amplifier Type Dual Channel

Channels 2-Channel

Bridgable Bridgable

RMS Power at 2 Ohms 250 W x 2

RMS Power at 4 Ohms 170 W x 2

Sensitivity: 90 dB

It looks like both operate at 2 Ohms, and the subwoofers around 250w RMS at 2 Ohms, while the amplifier is 250w at 2 Ohms. Is this a good match or is this amplifier overkill, do I even need 1000watts? Or am I completely misguided because I really don't know much.

If you can recommend an amp that will suite the subwoofers better. I would really appreciate it.

No, you'd want something that puts 500 rms out at 2 ohms.

Here's a kenwood monoblock if you wanna go with kenwood for $150 that would do 500 rms which those subs would appreciate.

I assume that a loaded enclosure acts as one unit and doesn't need two channels?

Also not looking for kenwood specific, but the amplifier you gave me will work.

They make them pre-loaded to a final load of 2 ohms. Which they handle 550 rms

That amp puts out a CEA approved 500 rms at 2 ohms, which is good for that price.
