Why would someone carpet a temp box for comps? I think it looks sexy. But you did not use nearly enough duct tape.

hey thats a blazer correct? i was just wonderin if you know how to get the god dam door panels off, mine wont come off... ever... help
ps sweet box, i just finished my first box in my blazer (or ever)

there are lil poppers/x-mas trees all around the out side of the panel and then the top hooks into the windowsil. Easiest way i found was to run a flat head screw driver under the panel until u find one, then put the head right next to it and pry a lil till it comes off... wasnt too hard for me to do

Look at the pro's..... Their stuff is not only loud, the good ones take pride in what they're doing and make it look nice too.

I'm just sayin, spend the extra 20 minutes and finish it off...

You don't have to be a d!ck. I think the reason you'd spend the time on the finish work is just in the nature of competition. Sure you want to be louder than the rest, but why not look good doing it?

show me a db dragger, MECA SPL'er, or USACI or IASCA for that matter that make's the outside of their box look pertty. all the serious SPL van's, SUV's, and car's i've seen didn't give two squats about aesthetic's.

i remember in a issue of car audio and electronics where they had a article about steve cooks in his DD/crossfire van where he stated he wished competitors would have pride and at least make the car's look decent. his exact words were something like the guys looked like they just brought the cars from the junkyard and dumped a bunch of concrete and woofers in them. I personally don't think cars with body kits, candy paint and fiberglass amp racks are necissary for spl comps but it should at least look decent. but of course bare mdf is always cool

i don't know why everyone is so bent out of shape over this... we're all entitled to our own opinions and i agree with this.......

PS: If you knew absolutely ANYTHING bout SPL competitors, you know they rebuild COUNTLESS numbers of times. They'll do anything to get a few tenths...so when it's going to be ripped out soon, or if something ugly gains for them...who gives a shit?!?! So, you're opinion doesn't count here...*** jack...
