Finally got my stuff metered

Went to soundcheck yesterday and played with the meter. Did a 146.2 reality on a LAB. But on the onboard osc. the wave was really odd looking. Double peaks sometimes etc. I blocked some of the port because I am not using a lot of power and figuring the port isn't doing some of the work. I put some port blockers in it. The wave seem to clean up a lot on the meter. But still only metering a 142.3 in the port. Only burped it about 4 times with new port blockers in and did a 147 reality (at the head). Odd thing is on the way home it gained a good amount of volume ..... I know this sound stupid but can a sub break in to its tuning... God I am going to get flamed. It just seems odd that it gained volume and this isn't the first time I have had this and my friends have noticed the same thing. Either way bottom line. Clamp tested 600 watts rms and a 147 reality. Watch out m3 if meca is around next year. And like I said on the way home it gained volume. ALso when I dropped my tuning and shrunk the port. IMMED to the ear lost half of its volume. but slowly gained most of it back on the way home

Oh yeah and this is a full range musical wall.... well full range for us rap listeners. plays clean down to 30hz pretty well and loud till about 50hz

no, you cant break in tuning. Are yer subs new? subs can break in and will show improvements in performance.

Nope.... I dunno. Either way. after metering it did get louder and it was doing a 147 when I metered it. not bad

That's not loud for any class besides the lowest Amateur Meca class.

That is what I am saying.

Prove you hit those numbers off 600rms, unless it is a cheater amp, then I will eat my left foot.........if I can get it up to my mouth that is.

Well I didn't clamp it on spot. But when I was at show last weekend I clamped it and it tested 560rms at 41hz and 540 at 52 I think. imp rise came right around 3.9 from the wired 2 ohm load. And Call soundcheck in kokomo and talk to RP. Or talk to the guys that went to the meca marion show. or call the one in lafayette and talk to loddie.

Not necessarly. Because with 4k it obviously would be a lot louder. it is just really efficient.

and the amplifier is a kole 2400d. either you are saying that amp is really underated or my power is correct. but I doubt it does more than what I tested at 4 ohms lol. it is a 1 ohm amp

OH YEAH.. and not that it would matter because I am not consuming much current. But Stock alternator and stock battery. At idle it drops to about 12 but as long as i am driving or above about 1200 rpm no voltage drop. even at night with headlights and heat on

Increase in output while driving could be due to higher voltage at the amp which would mean more power.

Yeah I know. but not immed. I mean the point on which on the highway till 40 mins down the road. and voltage was at 14.0
