FINALLY getting my first custom sub box!

I just want to say how excited i am to have my first custom enclosure built for my fi bl 15. hopefully it will look sic once installed! this will be the last piece to my system of my dreams (keep in mind im only 18 and this will be like my 4th system, 1st serious and custom one) i will post pics once i have everything in.

Lol u could have easily made ur own box single sub boxs are easiest if I get the right home depot employee to cut ur mdf u wouldnt even have to cut

i dont consider myself capable enough to build one. at least not yet.

yea ive seen alot of guys sell designs and cut outs. ill definitely try it and my dad would be a great help at doing it. just dont have the time or tools to try at the moment. and yea prefab ***** *** but now ima be rolling around with a nice box if he can customize it the way i want it.

yea i know that it wont be much louder or anything. its just better knowing i can play the sub full tilt in the new box made to specs for it than having to play the sub lower in the crappy box its in now to avoid hurting it. i dont want to choke it.

fair enough, remember you can still damage your sub easily even if it's in the correct enclosure, by having the wrong settings on the amp and deck.

yea that will be my next step. ill get my hands on a dmm and attempt to set the gains on my amp correctly. i didnt think i had to mess around with the deck settings? just set the gain correctly on the amp and leave all the settings on the deck at 0.

You're gonna be more than happy with the new box. I had a prefab slot ported box before my current system and the difference was totally night and day. Frequency response is better, it's louder, looks cooler, and you can say you have a custom built box. Best of luck with the new setup!

Thanks man! i actually have the same amp you have thats pushing my fi bl 15 now. im hoping to either upgrade the batt under the hood or add one to the back. its a nice amp for the price. i hope to one day have a sundown 1500 or something similar. would really love a DD because of what they can do with low voltage but $$$

I'm actually looking into changing up my front battery from standard wet cell to AGM to match my rear battery. Everywhere I've looked says it's really bad to mix battery types. I do have a build log/plan in the log section of the forum, details of my current system and future plans are there!
