im finally looking at getting a tv. gonna be lcd, but just want some thoughts on some brands and experiences. im tryin to keep it around 500-600 bux, so obviously ill be going with most likely a 32 inch. basically i just am getting it for my ps3, so something that wont get the onlince play burned in. from what i understand, lcd wont burn like that, only plasma. second, im trying to find a full 1080p if possible. so what do u guys have, whats ur experience, whats ur thoughts?

From what I hear, the tv's at walmart are 'throw aways' or in other words, they're cheap and break easily.

I'd suggest having a look on craigslist.

My family has had its 32'' lcd samsung for 3 years and its doing just as good as when it was new. LG is also a good brand, as well is sony.

My dads searching for a bigger TV, he went to best buy last week, they told him that the reason some TVs are a lot cheaper than other TVs that look basically the same is because of the internal amp and speakers.

the cheaper TVs have crappy amps and crappy speakers. Thats how they cut the cost down

bestbuy has 1080 P 60 hz sony and samsung. if you are willing to fork over alittle more cash, a samsung 32" 1080 120hz can be had for $699 on black friday

its really not much to do with the speakers.. It has to do with refresh rate quality of parts bulb life contrast ratio etc.. that will help somewhat but not much

well i work at best buy so the discount is incredible, so itll come down to that most likely. i really like lg and samsung tho, sonys, i like em but the nice ones are expensive as shit

DO NOT GET DYNEX, INSIGNIA, OR WESTINGHOUSE. I don't own one but I know alot of people who do and I've seen them in person and they look horrible. Since you're only going to get a 32" why not look into just getting 720 to drop the price a little so you could get a better TV? You honestly won't see a big difference in 720 and 1080 in that size TV. If I were going to get another TV and had that price limit I would buy this. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+32%22+Class+/+1080p+/+60Hz+/+LCD+HDTV/9231878.p?id=1218063831720&skuId=9231878 . I'm sure you can get a little extra money together to get it. I have 2 Samsungs and love both of them.

doesnt 1080 in 32s look like shit tho? at least from what ive seen t my store. i mean i know they just pull em out of the box, so its pretty hard to tell, but from what i saw they dont look that great. so ya i hear ya on goin 720 in a 32

you won't really be able to tell the difference from a 720p to a 1080p unless ur tv is larger then 42 inches, it doesnt make a significant difference. My boy has a 1080p 40 inch samsung and I have a 42inch 720p toshiba that looks just as good if not better than his. Its also in the contrast ratio and refresh rate. But for a basic model 720p vs. a basic model 1080p you won't be able to tell much of a difference at 32inch.
