finally done! *pics

do people usually talk sh*t like this? the amp was cheap and works fine, i would think its better then something like a sony xplod or something. and im not looking for huge numbers i just want it to sound good and it does. i dont want a huge square ported box ( no offense to anyone that does) i want it to look clean and have some character to it.
LOL welcome to ca.com

Yes we endlessly talk sh*t and make fun of anyone we can, especially people that are new/newish to the forums. The majority of us here really aren't big JL fans due to the price to performance numbers, which isn't so good compared with alot of other companies.

You got a nice/clean setup for sure, did u do the glass work urself?? Also any particular reason why you used JL and Kenwood?? I'm gonna guess cuz they are relatively cheap (those models at least), but you prolli could have gotten better products for the same price or cheaper.

Also im quite skeptical about the 144 also.... So it was a Termlab?? But where was the mic placed in ur vehicle?? Also how did the comp get screwed up and all of a sudden u did a 165?? With a TL i didn't think things like that could occur, thought only AC mics could change the "K" factor( i think thats what its called.

I have no problem with jl audio, I think they are a great brand and im not talking shit. I just dont see anyway that with those 4 12's sealed in that small of a box of so little power even in a hatch hitting a 144.

If you dont want opinions, good or bad then dont post on a public forum asking for them.

Eihter way it sounds like your happy with it so who cares what others think.

lol its cool i do it to all the noob guys on scion forums cuz thats one of my strong areas. no hard feelings i understand the fun. i really picked jl cuz they look pretty and are relatively cheap like you said, same with the amp, i had a older kenwood amp before so i figured why not? and the only other " good" local stuff is kicker and everyone has it so i stuck with jl. idk what happened with the metering it was tl and mic was on the dash. they just hooked it up and it was at like 100dB then the bass slammed, it went to 142..144.. then back down, bass hit again, 142... then shot to 165...158...100..139...142...somethin like that? so honestly idk what it was but on the a/c i stuck a solid 144

I agree 100%... I very highly doubt he did a 144 TL on the dash. Maybe the kick but i still doubt it.

Maybe AC on dash or in the kick... He said that from his first run he did a 142 but in his next he all of a sudden did a 144. Idk how he gained 2+dbs from doing nothing to change the setup from the first run to the next.

lol its good bro, they are 10's and you only see the top of the box, it is all 3/4 mdf under the floor full of resin, bondo hair and more resin, and it sat in the car for about a month. the top is rock solid, no flex even if you push on it. box has a total of about 3cuft and is sealed and im puttin out about 1000rms @2ohms. and i do appreciate the opinions good or bad.

it was a different song... thats all i can think of. i dont wanna go with the tl because of the computer glitch or whatever it was. it was a steady 144 on AC so if its a little off i can live with that.

very nice, but whatsup with the fiberglass inside the box as it looks stringy? I wouldnt be suprised if that box resonates really bad when you play it loud as looks thin?

deff props for the effort and clean look tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
