Hows it done?

Many companies make hollow spheres for different uses. Others make foam spheres that you can easily hollow yourself. Find whichever is easiest and best for your application, cut the proper hole, run wire, cover with cloth/vinyl/bed-liner/paint/etc, mount, enjoy.

You can then easily adjust direction and location while minimizing diffraction.
