finally axing stock hu (install ?)

To remove the dash panel, just pull hard. Really. There's nothing holding it on but pressure clips around the perimeter.

The security system in the factory radio, if active, will only become a problem when it's time to put the factory radio back in the truck.

 
Start at the bottom right corner where you can feel a gap between the bezel and the dash. Pull that one out a bit and work your way around pulling each out. You'll probably have to tilt the wheel down and maybe put it in gear to get it out. Note careful not to scratch the actual dash top with the pressure pins or similar. It's painted.
