After tons of searching, I have almost put my system together. I got the stuff for my enclosure, will get it done as soon as I pick my sub. Amp will be either a Rockford Fosgate P250-2 (250 watts rms x 2 bridged @ 4 ohms) or an Alpine MRP-M450 (220 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms and 400 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms). Reason for the Alpine-easy to add a second sub later. Sub-looking for SQ, box will be appox. .5 cu ft sealed (.5 max, will be built according to specs). $100 max for the sub (only looking for 8's, not enough room for any bigger). What sub will perform well with the given specs? Right now I am planning on one Sundown 8. I know there are some dayton's, aa's, tang band, etc, what do you suggest? Thanks for any input here and thanks to all who have helped me thus far.

Can't believe I left them out. Those were at the top of the list, but then I heard the sundowns were better. If there are any others worth mentioning, please do. Thanks.

Guess nothing, not gonna waste money on a sub if I don't know it is the right one. Thanks to those who have given input.
