Final Decision on 5.25 Comps...10 Choices!

I need help deciding on what my first pair of 5.25 comps will be. I have no way of listening to ANY of these speakers, so I only have reviews and opinions to decide on. I will upgrading from stock 4x6 speakers and am hoping for a big step up in SQ.

Here are the speakers I am looking at:

1) Polk db5250

2) Boston S50

3) MB Quart RCE213

4) A/D/S 245ix

5) Diamond D651

5) CDT CL-51A-25 PRO

6) CDT EF-51NEO/DRT-25 PRO

7) Crystal SSX-510

8) Crystal SSCS-5

9) Rainbow SLC 230

10) Rainbow SLX 230.02

Edit: 11) A/D/S 345cs

As I said earlier I have no way of listening to these, so please post all your thoughts on these comps. This will be my first pair of comps and I would like to make the right choice and your input will determine my decision.

I want a big, noticable difference in SQ over stock.

i say Cdt EFneo/Drt25, they have the fiberglass mids and the Drt25 is one of the best silk tweeters Cdt offers. The mids are very shallow so they should make your install in the 4x6" area a bit easier to fit. Over all they should sound excellent.

By new way, what kind of amp are you going to be using and how many rms watts?

crystal doesn't make an SSCS 5 yet. not sure when in '07 they plan to have made and release any.

i know some jacka$$ on egay has been claiming to have some for sale. and he doesn't, never has.

I'm partial to the rainbows myself . But what ever comps you choose , make sure you deaden and seal your doors properly . It will make more of a difference than the comps alone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If your looking to give them that much power rms then you will be better off going with the CL51a25Pro over the EF51 since they handle much more power.

Rainbow SLC, the rest dont start to as sound good until you get to the better models. ADS is def worth a look to.
