I think my tuning is off. My subs should murder the lows. But it seems to like highs. Like 35-40hz. Any way to test?

Can't really change the resonance of the car which is where it will be the loudest so... I don't see why a properly designed box with subs that have the proper specs to kill the lows would not be able to do so.

It gets low maybe its my ports.

Does it get low and peak on a higher note or does it not get low and only peak on a higher note?

If you have a termlab/splmeter;

do a frequency sweep and find your loudest score.
