Figuring out a setup.

Hey guys I'm new here. I'm trying to figure out an amp and sub combo that match my needs.

For now lets just assume I don't have a price limit, but I'm not going to be able to afford anything ridiculous like a critical mass amp or anything along those lines. I guess what I'm saying is keep it close to reasonable.

I know what I'm looking for soundwise, but my knowledge is contained only to the reasearch I've done online. I know I want 2 10" subs and I want the clearest, least distorted bass I can get. I don't care too much about how loud it is, I'm willing to sacrifice volume for quality. I want to have the subs alternate when they kick as opposed to kicking simultaneously (I want to say bridge? Not sure if that's how you accomplish that or not.) since I listen to a lot of metal and I want the subs to at least stand a chance at keeping up with these drummers and their ridiculously fast feet. I've read raves about Diamond Audio D6 subs, but I currently have a Phoenix Gold Ryval 754v which is only rated 500 RMS which is what the D6s are rated at and I'd want to power two. Plus I'm not sure if there are other reasons these subs wouldn't pair together well with that amp.

So basically are these subs right for what I'm going for? If so how should I try to power them? And If not what sub/amp combo would you recommend?

Also I get a lot of dust in my trunk since I live down a 4 mile gravel road. I'm going to try to figure out something to stop the dust from getting in, but if I can't would this be a big deal? Could it ruin my subs once I get them?

We need some kind of budget and max box size. I could say go with 2 audioque 2.5s and a aq1200. Or 2 jl w6s with a 1000/1.

I'm guessing sealed box. So the w6s would be a good choice but don't pay retail.

Dd510 sealed box?

My trunk is big so box size shouldn't be an issue.
And are the D6s a bad way to go?

It's not the box size. It's your music choice. IMO rock or metal needs sealed. They have a much faster response time but not all subs can work in one.

I've heard nothing but good things about diamonds but never heard the d6

No. It doesn't work like that. Sub choice and box design are going to affect whether or not the subs can keep up. You don't want subs alternating with each other unless you want to kill some equipment.

You have a pretty nice setup and maybe knowledge to go with it according to your sig, yet I'm surprised you have that opinion. We're all entitled to one so I'm not going to fight because I disagree. It's just that I see that opinion from lots of people with no audio experience and as they gain experience, it tends to fade away.

Right, yeah I don't want a vented or ported box.

Ok, yeah bcause the W6s are a little more than I'm willing to spend. I looked at those a while back. I have no problem dropping $500+ on this project, but not a whole lot more. A pair of W6s will cost $600-$700 and then I'll still need an enclosure and I'll still need to power them. I know where I can get a pair of D6s for $250. Assuming I buy these what would be the best way to power them? So you don't have to dig up an info on the subs they come in 2 or 4 ohm versions, these ones are the 2 ohm version (for like $20 more I can get the 4 ohm version, I've never fully understood the difference so I don't know if that's worth it or not.) 500 RMS and 3000 peak, dual voice coil. As for an enclosure the mounting depth is 6.3"

Take a good look at his post and tell me if you really think he is going to build or buy a box tuned low enough to sound remotelly good on the kick drums. Sealed would be his best option on his budget.
