Figured out what was wrong with TC-5200!

What was wrong is that it was a CES show driver and it had a modified motor (shorter gap plate) and now that I have a new one to compare to, a super soft spider system! This is why when I ran it on my DD amp the fricken tinsels ripped out, lack of suspension. Now I wonder why they would do such a thing and the answer I came up with is, for show... The above combo would allow a higher excursion show off with less power, so basically this driver was useless for the real world. When I first got it I pushed on the cone and thought it was super soft, my new one barely moves... Awsome I have been wanting to get a 5200 as well as a Treo sub,but I have never heard a Treo sub that wasnt in a fart box.Its gotta sound at least decent for daily beatin.

Ya, but the gap plate wasn't the problem, it was the suspension! These spiders are super soft, I can literally push down on the come with two fingers and push it through its whole range. Also when you compare the new basket with the old you notice the new coils protrudes from the bottom a good 1/2" more has more coil in the field in neutral position. Honestly that sub should not have been sold after the show , even with a shorter gap plate It should have lasted. Polo..
