Lol, that's what those 8's are at now, this box was for my old AQ Street Duty 8". Apparently it was 1 cubic foot tuned to 37 hz

I've been pretty interested in those TruBass 8's lately but haven't heard enough about them. How do you like them so far? How much power are you feeding them? And probably most importantly, how much did it end up costing you for the pair?

It cost me 200 dollars for the pair shipped from audio_phill, and I must say, it was more than worth it! Better build quality than my AQ, sounds better, I wouldn't be afraid to give them 700 rms apiece as long as it's clean power (in fact I did give one 700 rms for about a week) Right now they're off of about 350 apiece wired to 2 ohms on my SAE-1000D, and they sound really good. And, if you're vain like me, you can pick what color dust cap or logo. Right now, I have the first white dust-cap/red logo TB8's ever made!

Nope, no gasket included unfortunately, that's the only drawback on the subs other than the not-so-good terminals. I think you might be able to get a gasket from Mach 5 audio, because I believe that the baskets are made by Mach 5.

You can always unscrew the terminals though and just solder and heatshrink some decent gauge wire directly onto the tinsel leads and then ziptie to the basket. Bam, cheepo direct connects //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Late to the punch, but heres fully broken in Specs, 1600 on burps if clean, rated for 400watts, I run mine @ 600 daily with properly set subsonic, will handle it for years (literally)

I did 141 at the kick on termlab @ 44Hz with a single TB Ultra 8 in 1 cube @ 40Hz, 135 @ headrest (1600 watt burp) 131 on 600, in .8 - 1cube per @ 32Hz, 30Hz is no prob. Fs isn't that important most of the time, of course lower fs means flatter lower, but if the Q isn't above .3 you'll be reliant on the enclosure anywho, pay more attention to Qts, a fs of 50Hz will still play to 25Hz if the Qts is .45 or higher, to high and the sub gets boomy and very un-flat though, I prefer between .4 and .5, but for an 8, a TB Ultra will more than impress with it's output and transience, and the P-P of 1.5" in usable and 1.75" mechanical is fun as well. Very responsive (bass notes instead of just muddy tones) Quite efficient for an 8, 84dB 1w/1m is louder watt for watt than a RD V3 Alpha 10. Alot flatter and no coloration, each is hand assembled and tested before they leave Mr's Carroll's possession. the TB Ultra 10's are quite impressive too, 30Hz Fs, 1w/1m of 88.02dB, Qts .3, Vas 1.3cu ft, in 1.4per @ 32 they get quite energetic on 800 rms per. 1.5 @ 35 per and kick drums become a solid thud in the chest, 130gram mms with a bl of 25.5 assures very fast and accurate sound reproduction. 2" coil on the Ultra 8" and 3" coil on the Ultra 10" I make no money on these, James is a friend and I sell them to help him out. If anybody wants and True Bass hit me up, I keep none on the shelves and each he builds for me is a fresh one, not one laying around, hence the reason I can get the dust-caps and logos any way ya want them. White or black cones are standard color, any other color is $5 extra per, logo colors are no extra charge.

Oh yeah, the baskets are standard 4 spoke baskets, out way before mach 5 audio, lol, I've never had need for an oem gasket, foamies from the craft section in walmart make a perfect gasket and dont hide the tooling of the surround. Unlike most woofers, the surrounds go all the way to the lip of the basket and dont leave the unsightly gap that is all to often filled with gobs of black CA glue, lol. Mack 5 IXL 10.2 gaskets fit the TB Ultra 10 perfectly, not sure what 8" Gaskets would work.
