Field Serviceable Subwoofers

Why don't more companies make field serviceable subwoofers, like the solo x? Seems like it would create a better customer base.

Seems it would be more profitable because of people buying recones. I used to know a ton of competitors that ran Kicker Solo X just for the purpose of being serviceable in the field. One competitor had 6 SoloX tens and he kept 6 recones with him at all times. Cause he knew he was gonna burn one eventually.

Not the typical user and typically that means loose coil gaps.

It has been tried in various flavors for a long time. I'm sure the companies who tried it and stopped doing it have an accounting department that knows the answer.

Boston Acoustics G5 sub had a drop in kit that was new voice coil and soft parts.

The new Pride Audio Sub, and some of the mids line up, will all have field rebuild drop in kits available for them.
