fiberglassing inside box

alright, just finished building a box inside my trunk for my zcon 15, its 4.4 after port dis. tuned to 32 and now im wanting to fiberglass the inside, but never have done it so im seeing if anyone has any tips or anything good to do, i have some fiberglass cloth and mat and got the resin , any ideas,, should i put alot of the mat or something in all corners and resin over to kinda round off the corners?

are you chasing tenths? if not no real reason unless your box is flimsy. Personally I'd just 45 the corners instead of fiberglassing.. much more easy

fiberglass is a waste of time to me...unless your strictly competing. If the box is built good enough and braced you don't really need it. Seal the edges with silicone and be done with it

im just wanting it as strong as it can be and i had to build the box inside the trunk with only a inch or 2 inbetween the box and trunk so i had to use a tiny drill bit and wrench to screw all the screws in(******), so im sure its not as strong as it could be, and i have all the **** to fiberglass,

I would brace with all thread and fiberglass all the corners and edges.

This. Definitely use threaded rod to brace it at least. If you want to strengthen up the joints make sure to get some fiberglass mat

would the theaded rod be alot better than them round peices/sticks of wood, cause i have a few feet of that

Putting fiberglass on just the wood is going to do you nothing. What you want to strengthen is the joints. Put a coat of resin on the joints, cut some mat maybe 3-4" tall and however wide you need it. After you have the first coat down, press the mat into the corner with your paint brush, then apply another coat of resin, making sure to keep the mat as pressed to the wood as you can.

ok so i did one layer of mat in the corner and resined all over the mat, you think i should do more layers? and if so should i sand alot in between layers?

i like spending my time with car audio and i already have all the stuff so i figured id make the box stonger
