fiberglass box question.

i know the fiberglass basics, but my question is about the wood frame. Im looking to save money doing this project. Im want to make my wood frame as big as possible, and then fiberglass the places where there isnt any wood, and just put a few layers of resin on the wooded areas to even it out. This will save me a fair about of money on fiberglass. Is this ok to do?

Yes, fibreglass is strongest in curves, weakest on wide flat areas, it's better to use wood (braced as well preferably) for these areas if possible.

i'm actually design a box now that i plan on doing something similar. mdf front and fiberglass the rest, paint all to match.
