Fi X Series vs PG RSD12

yet another versus thread.....

In terms of SPL, which one would you prefer? Pros Cons?

If I would get the X-series(Pretty much a lower power handling Q) It would 2 tens, while if I get the PG it would be a single 12 inch sub setup. I know the X Series is more on the SQ end but I know FI makes a great sub. Also I have heard loads of great things from the RSD. The deal thats being offered on the forums for the X-series is very tempting,,,

Any help would be awesome,

Thanks

Well, the Fi-X isn't a lower-power-handling Q for starters. It's just a quality entry-level sub from the writeups I've seen. Even though I haven't used either, I would lean more toward the RSd, because of all the great reviews and the fact that Phoenix Gold still makes the RSd. I think Scott just built up a batch of the Xs to move some old parts. He may not be able to do repairs or offer a warranty. I could be wrong, but I think that's the situation IIRC.

And you can get the RSd 10s for $100 apiece authorized fro onlinecarstereo.com Around the same price as the Xs IIRC.

since when does Fi make an X series? or maybe ive just never heard of them....
They don't. They made them when the company first came out, but the line has since been discontinued. Scott Atwell jus had some leftover parts, so he recently made up a batch of new X drivers to clear some warehouse space.

I would think the FI would be better.......Made one at a time in the USA...

PG made in china mass produced crap...........

However I am not familar with any FI "X" series woofer

perhaps you can enlighten us as to what your reffereing too?

sorry dude, but that is one of the dumbest things ever said...and unfortunately people still believe it...

it depends on the company and it's rules and regulations...there are millions are crap that are made in china but there are still thousands of stuff that are made daym well with quality...

just cus it's made in the us doesn't mean it's quality (pre 2000 gm/ford/dc), and just cus its made in china doesn't mean it's automatically crap...

nah I wouldent say dumbest......looking over some of your posts

your clearly infront of me as a dumb post leader......

as said in other posts here the X is an entry level sub just a basic boom boom.

as for the RSD i have no clue about those dont have em here cant get em here.

I will say this, the FI subs no matter what the model or size or power are extremly well made, infact compared to the stuff we se in OZ they are like

rolls royce cars but without the unnesesary bling crap.

I agree that hand built subs ore often better than mass produced stuff look at

Chip foose cars like hemisfear, hand built and farkin fantastic, the plymoth prowler which is its closet cousin 4th removed, well it a heap o shiiit.

Hand made with care is always better than mass produced it doesnt mater how strict the regulations.

If I were the OP I would buy FI over any mass produced sub except maybe this one sub Ive seen but its the size of a sea container and costs 500000bucks but we are comparing apples and oranges.

The X is an entry level sure (but what an entry level) but its still a hand made sub & with the universal option (not sure you can get it) can then be made into any FI sub you like.

I save my dollers and start with the SSD for an entry level myself and 2 10s can sound really good if built in the right box even better than 1 12

just my 2 cents:wow:

for $160 shipped for 2 12's, that is interesting...

but i'd do what AM said and save up for 2 ssd's if going with fi...you'll be more statisfied in the long run, and will prob have less regrets...

That statement was made with no facts about how either of the drivers perform, which makes it a pretty worthless statement... The rsds arent crap, far from from it infact.. Being made overseas has no bearing on how a driver sounds. While the x series will probably get louder, the rsds were built with one thing in mind, sound quality.

any sub that is the size of a sea container and cost 500000 bucks is not mass produced //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
