Hey everyone. Had my Fi for sale but realized when I took it out of its enclosure that a tinsel wire fell out of place - woops! Doesnt look like the wire broke at all though, I think the solder job may have been sub-par on this one. Is there a good guide for getting this sub fixed up? I don't need to recone it do I?

Didn't come loose at the terminal. I will grab pics, it's hard to put into words. It simply looks like the adhesive used to secure it to the coils were not strong enough, and it just fell off and hangs under the cone now.

If its ripped out at the cone, its most likely going to be tough to repair. But post some pics and maybe we can advise of the best way to go about it.

Looks like you burned the tinsels in two very close to the cone/coil. You could POSSIBLY take off the dustcap and run some new tensils to the coil... most likely a recone is the better option.

Thanks for your response Mitch... Any other opinions guys? I am trying to sell it and don't want to face a reconing... Also don't want to cut any corners with this sub. Where do you get tinsel wire replacements?

If you're going to sell it, I would sell it as blown. Attempting a repair and selling it wouldn't accomplish much since most likely you won't get anywhere near used pricing for a repaired sub unless its done by someone known. Reconing it and selling would be pretty pointless also.
