Currently I am in the planning stage for my new system and need some I put from others on the box build. I have an fi ssd 10" on the way and the plan is to build a small wall in the back between the trunk and cab on the 70% portion of the backseat. I am going to put it in a .7 or.8 cf box after displacements and bracing. I plan on using a 3" flared port which gives me 7 sq inches of port area for the .7 cf box. From what I have read with flared ports the rule of thumb is 10sq inches of port area for 1 cf of air space in the box which would make a 3 in flared port spot on. I am concerned though that it will not be enough and give me some port noise. Which would result in rebuilding the wall which I want to be one and done if at all possible. Soo I am looking for some opinions and input on...
Flared port area in relation to size of the box and sub
Small ported box vs bigger ported box compared to a sealed enclosure
Trying to decide small ported box or sealed before too late to change the options
09 cobalt ss
No space concerns just weight hence small box
Fi ssd 10"
Fosgate 1200
0ga plus big 3 will be done during install
