FI Q, Which size?

I have recently decided after reading around different forums that the FI Q is the sub model that ill be buying for my next system. I listen to a wide range of music including, rock, rap, country... I like good sound quality as well as being able to pound it when I want.

Im planning on building a system that sounds good and not just bass. (SQ)

Im planning on Diamond audio D6 components with the silk tweeter. Amplifiers will be a Hifonics mono BXi 1206D and Hifonics ZXi 4006 for the components. I will be running my current HU wich is a Pioneer DEH-690UB. Ill be getting all my accesories from KnuKoncepts.

My question is what size FI Q would best fit my setup as well as should I build a nice sealed box or go ported. If ported Ive been told to tune it to around 30 hz.

Thanks in advance.

Its a Cobalt SS. Im willing to put a full size ported box if it will be a big benifit to sound quality...

Also whats wrong with the Diamond D6?

any other suggestions under $200 for components with a silk tweeter.

Eh, DA comps have gone down hill in general. I am not sure what I would choose for under $200 at the moment. For a few bucks more you could pick up a set of the lower line Rainbows. You might look into Pioneer Revs. Or heck, I might even be inclined to try the new Alpine Type X's (one version is out now).

ported will be louder, but if properly done can maintain sq. I don't know exactly where the Q needs to be tuned, but there are plenty of people who can help with that. In fact, you can find plenty of opinions with a search I am sure.

just do a single 15 and call it a day...cheaper then 2 12's, will get the job done...you're looking at a hefty amount of space though...3.5 or so net...

GF runs a 15" Q in her Cobalt, 3.5^3 @ 32Hz. Still leaves 1/2 the trunk to use which was important to her. Giving it 1000watts from a PG amp. She listens to everything from Pantera to Diana Krall and says it sounds very good and hits hard when she cranks it up...

Thanks guys... I think i need to figure out a different component set now. Im looking at the Alpine type X comps now... I have some more research to do on them.
