Fi Q or w7 ?

dude deff go with the w7, my friend went from a 12 fi q that hit 138.6 or something on a termlab, he got a 12 w7, same box went to 143db, i hate to say this because i never liked jl, but jl ftw on this one

I have the dub 7. Never heard a Fi, but heard alot of good things about them.

I'd model them in winISD to see what kind of difference there is. It won't be definate, but you should have a good idea of what response difference there is.

It's a tough decision. I can't say for sure that the price difference is worth the w7. If you can afford it, or get it for a good deal, I'd give it a go. Shouldn't be hard to resell it. Actually, either should be easy to resell. Especially if you only have it long enough to make a decision of one or the other.

wow a 4.4 db increase from only a switch? interesting.

anyway to the OP, are your w6's sealed now and is the Q or W7 going to be sealed or ported? if it were me, i'd probably keep the w6v2s.

The FI Q, is always being compared to the W7. They are both excellent subs, with good SQ and the ability to get loud. I have my Q in a ported box, and when I had my W7 it was in a Sealed box, so trying to compare the two would be very misleading in my scenario. If you have the dough to spend, try out the 13W7, if not, then go with the Q. I would have to go for the Q, if money was an issue.

would the Fi Q's get louder than the w6v2's ? if im pushing 800w at 2 ohms to each sub ?
a single Q ported probably won't get to the output level of the w6v2's ported. i went from 2 ported rl-p's to a single Q and i'm pretty satisfied, but i knew what i was looking for and what i wanted out of my setup. go sealed with those w6's, should save some space and still be awesome.

I don't think the W7 is worth the extra $$$ over a Q. Is it a better sub?...Plausible. IMO I like the sound of the W7 more than the Q. SPL very little difference to the ear. I also prefer the W6 over the W7 just because it really defines the sound of a drum echo better. It just seems more realistic. The spl should still be great for any DD but with more of a live feeling. 800 watts is enough for almost any sub to play at a moderate level.

im not quite sure right now. but im getting a custom box made from the person you recommended me from. hopefully an inch smaller than the box i have but i want to keep it ported.
