Fi Q help!

I have a Fi Q 12 in my 01 accord. it is being powered by a sundown 1000d. im running 4 gauge wire and knu rcas. the headunit is an alpine 9855 and when connected there is barely any bass. The bass is set on +15 on the h/u but there is still barely no output. before it was in a pathfinder on a p7600mp and there was alot more output. Maybe its the headunit? or something wired wrong?

HU settings probably. Check SUB level, LPF, etc...

the bass setting on your HU doesnt need to be up that high at all.

how are you setting the gains?

right now gain is about 3/4 up. would a bad ground also cause this? or bad rcas?

you could have the sub wired out of phase, wrong ohm load?

If the voice coils are out of phase, that would kill the sub (I think); not to mention the sound.

the sub is wired to 1 ohm load. the box was designed by brianchia, i think its 2.1 cu ft tuned to 32 hz. what should be the LPF be set to? the gain? i dont wanna mess up the sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

LPF 80-100Hz

subsonic 30Hz assuming the box is ported and tuned to 32Hz

If the box is sealed you can run the subsonic filter a lot lower.

how do you know if your between 80-100hz? or 30hz? is there a type of meter? cause its hard to tell on the sundown

that 9855 has alot of settings that if you dont know what you are doing it can get pretty tricky.

check through the manual and make sure you have it set for 2 way and not 3 way active. ur sure you have your rca's plugged into the subwoofer preout?

k, did you check how the crossover is set. you actually have to take the unit out and there is a switch on it to change it from 2 way to 3 way.
