Anyone can help me deisgn a box fo a Q15? I will be feeding it about 1000 for daily and maybe 1300-1400 for showing off sometimes:eyebrow: . Everyone seems to recommend ported so I guess I'll be going ported. I want to make the box close to or same as for a 15 Mag since I might be upgrading to it maybe next year or so. They recommend 3.5cuft @ 28hz on SI website and 3.5cuft @ 27hz on Low-Hz.com. Which ones is the real one? So considering that, I had these two boxes on my mind...

3.5cuft @ 30hz

3.5cuft @ 28hz

3.5cuft @ 27hz

Which one will work BEST with both woofers? I ask this because the type of setup I'm doing, it'll be royal pain to get the box out and get another one in when I do upgrade. So it's sort of a one shot thing. Any possiblities that I can make the box with dual ports or maybe dual round ports rather than one large port which kind of ruins the look? I tried figuring out vents on WinISD but I'm not sure what VENT MACH is. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I thought it was disastrous to go low 20's for ported enclosure? BTW, I need the box as an SQ alignment, not SPL.

I have no experience in designing boxes. Usually before I just used to design per say o nthe sites and go with that. But since I'll be sticking to the Q/Mag for a while, just want to make sure. I thought porting it would make it louder?

anyone have some more input ...is 3.5 @ 32 before displacement not going to be good for this i gotta let my box builder know...should i tune lower? 28, 30, looking for mostly SQ but also some good SPL...thanks

I've been very happy with all the 15" drivers I've owned being in boxes that have been tuned to 28hz.

Tuning lower flattens the freq resoponse. Tuning higher gives you a peak, with better output around the peak.

If you want it flat tune low, if you want a little louder then tune a lil higher.
