what type of screws do you need to mount it in the box? also would the q perform better facing out or up in the trunk?

drywall screws and it depends. cant really have a direct answer. you have to experiment. but what kind of car?

you have to experiment with placing the sub. every car is different but sub up port back is always a good place to start.
