Last night I completed the install of my Alpine bluetooth module along with my IDA-X305. The X305 by itself was a big pile of wires but it got a lot worse with the bluetooth module. It took a lot of work to get the radio to slide all the way in.
I have plans to redo all the wiring once I get my Imprint module. I need feedback on ways to make running the wires much easier.
One idea I had is as follows.
Run wires from vehicle's wire harness and headunit wire harness to a location behind the glove box. There is a lot of space behind the glove box along with little compartments that aren't being used. I can do a lot there. There I will neatly connect all the wires as needed. Maybe use some sort of project box and distribution block from Radio Shack? My goal is to have two thin and neat bundles of wires behind the radio instead of the rat's nest it is now. Hopefully it will make it easier to slide the radio in as well as just making a cleaner install. I also need to contend with the USB cable, Ai-Net cable, and the cable from the bluetooth module.
This is only the second headunit I've put in so I'm a little new at all this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
