FI Q 12"......Amazing SQ.

I absolutely will now swear by my FI Q 12." My first impression was that it wasn't that great. Only con I have noticed, is that it doesn't hit the low's very well. After a couple hours of tuning, I am stunned at the SQ from this sub. I hear no distortion of any kind (Unlike my Orion's) which is great, especially when you are waiting for the next track to play. Also as a lot of you may have heard from other people this sub does indeed get LOUD. I have a single Q 12" in the car right now with 800w driving it, and it vibrates everything. I am almost ready to buy the second one, with high anticipation, but I would prefer to have one that's already broken in. I tuned the sub listening to D4L's tatted up, and it sound great. It does help to have a great amp to push it (SAZ1500D @ 2 ohms)!!!

word, i'm still letting mine wang with a 20hz tone right now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif mine hits the lows pretty **** well so far. gonna wait and do a comparison with the rl-p.

Your point is.......Get back @ me after you toss that POS.
*devil's advocate*

I understood what he said just fine.

You said you have amazing SQ...but with rattles and no low notes. Now, rattles is no big deal, cause I'm sure you're going to treat it. However, most SQ subs are consideered those that have the ability to get low. I'm not saying yours isn't, just giving you a reason why he said that. Though, it wasn't really necessary but neither was your last comment.

Anyway. I'll consider a Fi if I ever get a new subwoofer. I hear alot of positive feedback on them.

Yeah they do seem to have a break in time, that is for sure. Have owned the sub for a few months now and had it in and out, in and out and finally getting to sound good. Plays everything from rap to rock and hits every note. Mine actually can get quite low for 1 12! I would get another one and get a nice 2000rms amp, but I dont have the room for another, so I am happy for now.

I actually own the fi q 10 and havent build the box yet, wondering if i should go ported or sealed? I see alotta people have experieced it, but what box did you like it in the most?

Have only heard 2 12's sealed (wasn't mine) and 1 15 ported. Liked both set ups, but I always do ported boxes, so that's what I'd go with.

Never heard the 15 sealed, but it keeps up with everything in a ported box, and hits low, so that's where it's staying...

I let my friend experiment with a 15" Fi Q, and a 12" IDv.3.

from his saying, the IDv.3 was more accurate with the fast kicks from "All That Remains - Six"

The Q was said to have missed some notes.

for extra info, the ID was ported and the Q was sealed, if that makes a difference to anyone.

The Q is currently ported now, but i have yet to ask him how it handles the fast kick drums in its new ported box.
