feels like my w6 is lacking loudness or deep bass

Is that a newer company? I'm just now getting into Sundown, you guys move brands too quick for me. I noticed that trends change here in these car audio type forums. Everyone raves about brand *x* for a couple years then it's on to something else. Why I'm not sure since the laws of physics will only make audio so good anyway. A few years ago Audiopipe and Fi was praised about and purchased by some here, now it's like they didn't exist lol. I think that's what happened to the old audio companies....the once well respected brands like Kicker, Orion..etc didn't betray the enthusiast crowd rather it's the enthusiast crowd that betrayed them, forcing them to either eat Ramen noodles or sell out to Walmart quality in mass.

Mark my words, Sundown audio, Fi, DD..etc will be next. The enthusiasts will move to other brands and 10 years later will say their products are junk but were once great. Too many audio companies anyway. Or maybe I'm just looking at it all wrong.
Audioque = SoundQubed

Mainstream audio is nothing compared to 'underground' audio.

If you want the same amount of build quality and xmax, magnet size, motor structure, etc: out of a mainstream sub, compared to that you can get from SSA Store expect to pay atleast $200 or more for the mainstream subwoofer.

Yeah I was in highschool in the early 90's. I also had a Rockford amp that disappointed me, it was the 600.1bd. From 2006 model I think. Just didn't perform but the birth sheet said it put out over 700 watts so not sure what was up. Sold it to a friend and he wasn't impressed, he then got a Slash 1000 watt amp and was happy so I think RF had some issues there for a while. Their new lineup's look good to me though.

FYI. DD has been on top since the late 90s.

But wasn't most mainstream brands once underground too? I know Kicker started out with 2 people. But I was just noting what appears to be trends on forums like this one as far as what brand is mentioned more and wanted/sold. Obviously not a good record for what those companies make profit wise to maintain good business but doesn't seem like it could be very easy for them to profit well in such a convoluted market.

As owning a business myself, typically you either have to expand, shrink or file bankruptcy. Staying the same seems to lead towards the latter.

What is there to prevent underground brands from becoming mainstream? I used to think Sundown was more of an underground brand but the past couple years it became a very common brand in my area considering how many dozens of their subs and amps I see at pawnshops and various other places here. Which is where I got mine from.

I remember when Rockford Fosgate was underground too. You couldn't buy it at any retail store you had to go to audio shops or flea markets to them.
