I did get it good , well improved but feel like it could be better. I just feel like I should be getting more considering what I paid. That L7 really raised the bar I guess. It was loud and thunderous bass that would rattle the entire SUV, mirrors and all. The JL is loud but not as loud and the bass is clean and tight but a bit too clean and tight. I keep wondering if my ground might need to be better. Would that affect sound?

It will effect output but I think you would already know if it was bad. The L7 had way more cone area than your 10. L7s are louder but sound like crap. If you thought it was thunderous than you have never heard a real setup. They pail in comparison to good subs.

I posted in your other thread. But something like an sa8 or sa10 in a proper enclosure would have been a great choice for you. You can always sell the jl on Craigslist where people pay retarded amounts for them and have plenty left over after you buy an sa and build/buy a box

You are telling him to swap out a W6 for a SA? GTFO

he wants output. put a w6 in an optimal box and put a sa in an optimal box and you tell me which one gets louder. and the sa isnt going to sound bad like his l7 did either.

I have 3 of these on a b2 zero 3 and hit a 142.7 on a termlab in my scion xb. So they can get pretty loud for sq sub. I got a really good deal on these, payed less than what the subs by them self cost. I could make my money back when I sell them.

One of the major reasons for the JL W6 choice was the box size. I have an SUV and need to use my 3rd row and could not with the L7. Maybe I just need to get used to it. As long as the ground is good I could remove that variable and move on to the next which may be settings on my amp or head unit. I raised the sub level to 3 today. I am not a fan of doing this but it helped a bit. Maybe Im expecting too much? I wish one of you guys could hear it, lol. I need some kind of assurance that I have this giving all it could.
