Feel like I;m spending too much money on a system...am I?

$2k isn't bad IMO. However as asked before, why 3 10's?
going with HDC3's I assume you are going SPL? I would think a pair of 15"s would be a better choice and would be cheaper. and yes, you will need an alt. subs don't matter when you talk alternators, it's the amp(s) that need the extra power to give the subs (no matter what they are) solid power...
Well in my specific instance, I have a Pontiac Vibe so I'm dealing with a hatchback design and quite honestly the 10 cubes or so for 2 15's just isn't there seeing as how I don't wanna take my back seats. I've actually thought of doing 2 15's, just doubt I can fit it.

Deadener installation is a PIECE OF CAKE.

1) Wipe down areas to be deadener. Just make sure they are pretty clean.

2) Take the paper off the piece of deadener to reveal the sticky part.

3) Put sticky part on the metal.

4) Grab new sheet and repeat.

Its like putting a sticker on something. Just stick it on. A 4 year old could install Dynamat, and Im not even joking.

$150 for dynamat instillation thats bogus.. do it your self a retard could figure out how to do it.

ho alt going to run around $300-$400 is my guess depending on the vehicle.

the box should cost more like $150 not $250, unless its a godly box with suede or something.
The box price quote was from my local audio store. There is one other shop around here that does custom boxes but I dunno the price from them. I have personally seen the work this place does, they make solid boxes no lie.

I thought the sticky part (Isn't it tar?) had to be heated up?

you should msg Mike465 he does very nice boxes and will ship it to you for probaly cheaper than 250$

3 10's just kinda has that edge to it you know...its not something you see everyday, haha. That's not my only reason for going with 3, to my knowledge of car audio 3 10's would hit harder than say 2 12's and they take up around the same amount of space.
Dynamat is really that easy? It being put on with tar kinda put me off haha. I honestly have no idea how to do it.
you might wanna go read some more, yea 3 10s have a slight cone area advantage but they way it sounds is install dependent.

Yeah deadener isnt hard at all to install,id say like everyone else said, take away the 150 for the dynomat install and put towards the Ho alt and **** even the cost for your wiring seems over the top to me.Laso the box build seems a bit too high aswell, and If I were you id go with the one 3000 instead of 3 separate amps.Even the extra battery seemed expensive but thats just me too I would say one yellow top optima for $100 depending on where you look.Maybe it all has to do with location and who you know and what places are local to you but im sure i could knock about $500 off that install where I live.

what kind of car? and 2 12's off 3k would be louder I bet....1k will hardly move em

Its summer time, just set it all out in the sun while youre working with it and it will be warm enough. Unless its really cold out you wont even need to heat it up, just being in the sun is enough.

For some reason, if it is cold out, just get an extension cord and grab your moms/girlfriends/wives hair dryer. That does the trick just fine.

The black side is a butyl. Its just sticky, thats all. You can touch it, and it doesnt leave a mess or anything. Heck, you can stick it to a white shirt and it doesnt leave any mark.

Its designed to have a totally clean, idoit-proof install. If the mat is stuck on the metal, its installed correctly. No real way to do it wrong.

I noticed in your sig you have 2 15's? How do they sound in 7.25 cubes? Don't the HDC3 15's call for 5 cubes each?
