i got a consistant humm in my sub at all times. even when i pause the cd player. i have tried re-running rca's and a new pair of rca's to no avail. do you think it's the amp ground?

Certainly that's a good thing to check, yes.

get the ground down to bare clean metal and make sure its good and tight, if all else fails then i would run a length of cable directly back to the negative terminal on your battery.

actually, its a good thing to do...its just not cost smart on most lower power systems.
