Just looking for some feedback on the equipment I've chosen for my sound system. I haven't made any purchases yet, so the links are just there for reference.

Amp: Sundown SAZ-1500D v3

One thing I'm not so sure about is the Sub box. I chose those subs because of their limited sealed enclosure space. I would love to hear some options on quality prefab boxes, or if custom would be the way to go. I know it's a lot to ask, but I would like to keep the spare tire in my trunk.

See anything that doesn't look right, or maybe some better option?? I know the Focals are high dollar, as is the Arc Audio Amp...I'm not married to either.

Thanks!

One thing I don't see you mention anything about is what type of alternator you're going to run and how many batteries or what type of batteries; That's gonna be over 3000 watts of power; I hope you don't think your stock alternator can handle that

Well, **** the bed Fred! That's exactly why I'm asking for feedback...cause I don't know stuff like that! Probably goes without being said, but I'm a bit of a newb...the figure you mentioned, 3000 watts, how do you figure that? My peabrain is seeing a 300 watt 4channel amp, and a 1500 watt monoblock amp. Can you explain, please?

Well the amp you picked pushes out 3,000 watts if you look at the specs; I'm not sure if you planned on pushing it that far or not, but it has the ability to do 3000 watts; So i would just assume if you bought it that you would want it to do what it's rated to do. But if you're only looking to do 1500 watts, then you'll find that you need a lot less power coming from your alternator; I don't know if your car is a 4 cylinder or a V6; But if you have a 4 banger, then you have a 70 AMP Alternator; And if you have a V6, you have a 130 AMP Alternator; So we figure that your car uses about 45 AMPS to run the vehicle; So we subtract 45 from 130; That leaves us with 85 AMPS to work with; Your vehicles voltage is gonna jump from about 13volts to 14.4volts while you're driving it; So I usually use 13 volts to do all my math so i can get the worst case scenario; But anyway, 13volts * 85 AMPS = 1,105 WATTS; That means that without any modifications, your current vehicle setup from the factory can support about 1,105 watts of music; HA HA HA, yeah right, that's only assuming that AMPS are 100% efficient, which they are not; So we assume that amps are about 70% efficient; So we multiply by .7 So your current car's alternator, battery and wiring is probably good for about 773 WATTS. The first thing you want to do is at a minimum do the big 3 upgrade; you can look that up and find out what it is; Also you wanna look at getting an upgraded alternator; They call them HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATORS; They're expensive, but hey, you're playing with the big boys now;

The Honda is a V6...

The subs are rated for 500 watts max RMS...so, I was thinking the SAZ would run 750 watts to both. With that said, do I need to buy a **** "HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR"?? I've heard about the big 3, and I'll be requesting this to be done during the install regardless of the alternator used...

Yeah, the High Output Alternator is definitely something you want to add to your car if you're gonna be running anything past 800 WATTS RMS; You can do research and find out what kind you want to buy, but I would suggest you get a MECHMAN Alternator; They're about $400.00 before taxes. And once you find out how many AMPS the alternator will put out, it will be a lot easier to see if you have enough power. But just off the top of my head, you'll likely be ok with just the alternator upgrade.

Ok op. You prolly won't need the ho alt. the amp puts out rms of 2000 not 3000. A big 3 kit and good size agm will prolly be enough but it also depends On Your car to
Not sure where you got your information from; But here are the amp specs

Dimensions 8.30” x 2.32” x 16.53”

If you had 2 and linked them youd have at 2 ohm an availabilty of 3krms. By itself the amp can produce 1500rms@ 1ohm

my fault, didn't see linkable; and me stop giving advice? boy stop; Because of an oversight? get a life dude

first off the formatting was off on the original page that he included in his initial post, which is where the oversight occurred; I have (2) degrees which is probably more than you'll ever have; So don't question my integrity because of an oversight that I admitted to

You will no doubt have some dimming issues id look into a stronger battery aswell
