Here's the goods that arrived today, I'll follow this up with an install pic since I'll be doing custom racks and enclosures. It'll be my first time fiberglassing, so wish me luck. I got all this stuff for a total of $490 and change, shipped. How did I make out??? I'm still in shock that these amps are so SMALL!!

The two amps on bottom are D3 400.2 that are giving out over 170wX2 @ 4 ohms.

The top amp is a D3 800.1 giving out over 1200 watts @ 1 ohm. I'll be running it at 1.5 ohms. 90 amps of fuses FTW!!

The Subs are JL audio 10W3V2 D6's. It should provide for a real clean sounding system with tight bass, just how I like it. (Dual 6ohm VC's = 1.5 ohms wired)

The amps will be running my component speakers in the front doors and rear deck. The fronts are Cadence CVL-6K's and the rears are Cadence CVL-S69's.

I didn't post this just to show what I have, but to see the opinions of people running these amps. Also, what are your opinions of the setup overall? I'm VERY interested in feedback and if I could get better quality products for the price I spent, which was $490 for everything shipped as stated before. Also, does anyone have birthsheets for these amps, just to see what the actual output of other 400.2 and 800.1 amps are? I can't find any ACTUAL data, just rated data.

Questions and comments?? Be my guest, please!!

thanks all! Now, does anyone have these amps or at least seen a birthsheet? I'm trying to get actual output, not just by looking at the fuses supplied. Calling DA tech support did not help at all.

All these goodies are going in my.................dum da dummmm...... 93 Maxima 3rd gen!! ITZ ALL TRICKED OUT YO!!

lol, thanks guys. I got them from ebay, the motherland of all good deals if you know what to look for.

I plan on doing a sealed box with these, and had a few questions since this will be my first custom box. I've been reading through the stickies and other places online and can see that sealed enclosures are more forgiving and easier to build, but lack efficiency. Ported enclosures are larger, and harder to built....but are more efficient at lower frequencies and have less distortion at those frequencies.

What do you reccomend? Ported or vented? I'd be tuning it to 35 hz or something, to get good range, sq and loudness. I have no idea how to tune a box, though. Either way I'll make a basic box, then make a removable cover out of fiberglass and some old t-shirts and stuff. The removable covers will be so I have easy access to my stuff when I need to work on it, and will probably just stay in place with velcro or something. Plus that makes doing the actual enclosure much easier.

Anyone with those birthsheets or amp data? I can't find anyone to do a bench test for me. I'm thinking about bringing it to the engineering department at Purdue, and using their oscilloscopes to do it myself....
