february 28th ( very long and involved)

One of my best friends has a favorite saying, "Just because I'm educated and use common sense doesn't mean Im white". He is indeed black if it's not obvious from the quote.

My views are pretty much the same as JManpc's. I have absolutely nothing against black people, oriental, middle eastern, etc. Absolutely nothing. But Im not going to say that I'm not biased, because I am very much so. I don't judge people on the color of their skin though but rather their level IGNORANCE. I absolutely hate stupid people. And this is applys to everyone, be you someone who tries to act like something you're not, someone who is intolerant to others ideas and ways, or don't know that when the street light turns green, its fucking means Go, not talk on your cell phone for another minute and a half.

its nothing new.. look at blacksploitation in the 70s, the glorification of pimps/macks/drugs and an overall degenerate lifestyle... 'thug life' is just the continuation of that culture...

Its sad that society associates such base themes with black culture overall; that positive aspects of black culture are so easily eclipsed by negative ones in the eyes of the majority.

i would have to disagree with the pants sagging section.

Pants sagging originally originated from poverty where parents had to buy pants 2X bigger so they would last longer, because the parents were to poor to buy new ones for growing boys.

Listen to Killer mikes song called " thats life", very positive song where he speaks on views of things, and thats why i like killer mike cause he doesnt bite his toungue like most of these rappers and he speaks on real life situations on which he went through

The question is why?

Why do people glorify such poor choices? Why does BET glorify such choices. If mainstream black media does not help reverse these negative stereotypes (and I stereotype. If I see a guy with a pocket full of cash I assume both he is a drug dealer and that he is stupid) How come even though "white media" focuses on the negative aspects of our culture, white are still regarded as successful?

Also, I was watching the "Behind the Scenes" of the Kings of Comedy and Chris Rock seems to have a pretty good view on the whole black people vs. "n"people issue. I didn't see all of it so I won't make any other references to it but in general, I do feel that the "n"people do bring down a whole race. Its a shame when a black person becomes successful in any other way than rapping or selling drugs and they are then shunned by their own general race because they are a "sellout".

I know someone is going to jump down my throat for this but have at it Marting luther King was indeed a great man, Jesse Jackson is a imbicile, the NAACP is just as racist and the KKK,and just as corupt as our government.
