Feasible box?

As a future setup, I'm going to have multiple RE8s. I'd like to be able to switch from an SQ/SPL function.

Here is my theory: Create a box with a tuned port (.5 cubes and 35hz) that can be switched to a sealed box (.217 cubes) with a large MDF plug? I'm thinking a slot port, so I can simply slide in a piece of wood (with weatherstripping on the edges) and tie it down with wingnuts or some other quick fastener.

35hz isnt even really that SPL, u will be happy wit it

oh yea in theory it should/would work as long as it is sealed after putting the plug in

I think with the proper reinforcement, weather stripping, and some strong metal hardware to hold in place, it would be sealable.

The point of this thing would be to have an SPL AND SQ setup. Maximum use out of a single box, hopefully.

How low can the RE8s go? is 20hz too much to hope for? 30hz?
