First off, Im not using the word idiot. I am saying 'our' side has science to back up why asphlt based mats are inferior to butyl mats. Inferior on a scale that does not match its price comparison. So as rudy has pointed out many times, you are better off buying as much of the better butyl stuff as you can rather than opt for a greater amount of an asphalt based product.
When faced with reasoning that has science to show asphalt is inferior, rudy has given you one example to test for yourself the different (small pieces of metal with each type of mat on, tapped with hammer), and even the industry in general has moved away from the older and inferior asphalt mat and onto the newer and superior butyl products... with all this overwhelming evidence that asphalt is a poor choice in today's market, you still insist its a good buy becuse its still stuck to your car. You have no way of knowing how much better a butyl mat would work, you only have one frame of reference. I fail to understnd how you can conclude this makes for a viable platform from which to base your argument.
