Fairly new ID-Max 12" bit the dust... what happened and what to do?

I guess it has been in 4-5 months now. It still plays but not like normal. The other night it just kind of went down on output so I popped the trunk and found the surround detached. It isn't all the way around but about 4" or so on one side. What caused this? What will need to be done to fix it and who can do the work? Possible defect?

that will\should DEFINATLY be under warranty from ID IF you bought it from a authorized ID dealer.

call them.

first thing i would suspect is the speaker grill. the idmax has some pretty nasty excursion and if that grill isnt far enough away its gonna tear it up something nasty.

I feel ya dude....i got the same problem lmk what you do to fix it......as for me i sealed it back with some industrial grade silicone(no warranty) and put it in a ported box to relieve some pressure sealed boxes have on cones....2 months...so far so good...looks like crap though.
