I've seen people seriously make that comment before though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
lol

I argued with a guy a while back on another board because he insisted Alma Gates broke 170db's with the Kicker system in her Bronco, and that she had never even been affiliated with PPI. And this guy was 'old school' from 'way back'. lol

Thanks for the pics //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They are going in a total SQ system so I am not worried about there SPL abilities. I am aware there are better subs available now but I think they will sound good with my install and look really good with the black art series amps.

Ah well if SPL isn't a concern (and enclosure space), yeah I think you'll be happy with those subs. They can certainly sound good. And they are still one of the best looking subs ever made imo. Keep us informed on this project, I dont find many fellow ppi pro owners anymore. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The PPi pro's are nice, i used to run 10's, and while the SQ was very good, if pushed a bit and if the enclosure isn't dead on, they make a snapping noise, sort of like the cone is hitting something when it moves....hard to describe, but i guess thats due to a small excursion....maybe i kust need to put the glue down, but that's one reason i got rid of them and bought Boston pros...(long time ago:)

Its funny, a review came out for the ppi pro's a long time ago and the reviewer complained of this same popping noise. Ever since that review Ive seen countless people mention how the subs has this 'noise' (usually from people who have never heard the sub in their lives), yet I never heard it once with my ppi's. Not once. *shrug*

Its funny you mention the Bostons too, I looked very very hard at the Boston Pro's before I chose these PPI's way back then, imo the Bostons were just terrible sounding/performing subs. The Boston's looked tits, but performed like a very mediocre sub imo. I had my heart set on the Bostons until I got serious about listening to them, then I chose the PPI's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

If they make a snapping noise they won't be in my car very long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I had a pair of Pro's back when my car audio knowledge was still in it's infancy......fried them in less than 6 hours //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif They are still the only drivers I've ever damaged in my life.

It was okay though, I "traded" them in for my Eclipse 88120DVC's and couldn't have been happier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

the 15's had the beastly motor in it (for its time). It was rated for double the power etc of the 12's and 10's.

Don't forget that massive 5" coil. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Wow like a week later there's a PPI Pro 15 on ebay. I cant remember the last time I saw the 15" version for sale. If I were rich, I buy this thing just to own one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah I saw that. It has been on there for a few days. I have been thinking about picking it up. But since I just bought another a404.2 I don't think I can swing it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
