Factory speakers

So I was just wondering if any of the factory speakers are good? I'm sure this has been brought up in the past, but I do have a more specific circumstance. I have access to ford tweeters (sony dc3t) they are 5.2ohm 25w, and have like a soft metallic mesh top. Also some THX speakers that look like maybe 2 inch(not completely sure), I'm guessing full range deals, they have like a paper cone... Yes they would be free and unlimited. May have access to other speakers, but for now just these.

1.) Do you think these would sound good enough to incorporate into a system?

2.) Do any paper cone speakers sound good.. I hardly ever see after market speakers have paper cone, except maybe some mid drivers or house woofers.

3.) If anywhere near yes to #1 , how many could you setup to get maximum effect.

I know this is pretty retarded, but humor me please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif thx

Sure some do. Many cars come with upgraded audio packages that are just fine for 'average Joe,' and possibly good enough for people into car audio (Bose packages come to mind for example). They are scale-able: you can replace speakers and amps as you have money to replace them. Not a bad deal.

I love a paper woofer... way better than low end poly cones on cheap car speakers. But they don't do well with the sun and water a car takes on.

I actually just bought a new OEM subwoofer that I am experimenting with on box design. I won't pay a premium for OEM audio; it's marked up too much and aftermarket is better for the dollar. But I got a good deal on it (cheaper than comparable aftermarket units).

Unless you have access to a wrecked luxury car to pilfer components out of, aftermarket is going to be a better bet. But pillar tweeters and upgrading the door panel speakers would be where I would start.

Agreed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. I've never seen so much marketing and 'engineering' go into making an average 3" woofer sound as good as a 3" woofer in a plastic enclosure can //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. But it is a branded label and considered an 'upgrade' at the dealership all the same.

I was impressed with my wife's Jeep she got recently. No upgraded sound or anything, but it was very full sounding for a factory setup!
