Factory Speakers good in my golf?

Hi,

I just bought a 1997 VW Golf. My question is it has mid's and separate tweters higher up in the door. and same for back doors. ( Its a 4-door)

Is it worth setting up an Amp to the factory speakers?

I have a New Alpine CD-P I want to add. Will this be enough to run all mid's and high's.

The Factory speakers sound like there really under powered with the factory cassette deck.

I'm guessing by adding amp to them will bring them to life.

I also have a 12" going in the back.( about 250watt rms to the sub)

I have never installed a system in a VW before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Any tips.

First one thing. Go to a couple of car audio stores and listen to what hey have. if they have anything that sounds better than your stock speakers, start investing for new speakers, probably a cd player and also an amp. then look around to see what people are praising in the forums ( different from time to time) and then go listen to those. Find the ones that are the best priced and most importantly.... what you like the most.

If your vw's anything like mine was, have fun drilling out the rivets so you can install new speakers!

my speakers sounded pretty good stock, but never hurts to invest in some new speakers and an amp for them
