Hello,

I ran into a problem and I'm quite annoyed with myself because I already wired the speaker and come to find out, it doesn't fit the 6x8 area on my door therefore I need some sort of conversion brackets but not sure where to get them. All 4 doors are 6x8 fitted but I have 6.5" aftermarket door speakers.

Can someone recommend me conversion brackets?

Thanks!

What vehicle ?

I have a 2005 Focus ZX3 ..I ended up putting high end 6x8s in my doors ..running wires is a pain on these cars ..I use to have a Zx4 with the street appearance pkg
I was able to mount them with 2 screws but there's about an inch gap at the bottom of them.

I usually use 1/4” to 3/8” lauan which is basically smooth paneling for building speaker mounting plates..it also works well for custom trunk panels ..it can be cut easily with a jigsaw or hand saw ..the abs mounting brackets sold by metro ..scosche and ai are very flimsy ..and cause speaker cancellations due to flex ...another tip if a speaker is mounted where the basket bends it can cause VC rub so speaker needs to be mounted even all the way around to prevent damage

I'm willing to go back in and do custom mounting plates but I'm **** at figuring out the sizing and everything. If I can get a template for it and draw it out, I can cut it and whatnot.

2 things you can do ...1) Use some poster board to cut out and make a template..or 2) flip factory speaker 6x8 over on the panel and trace it out ....another helpful tip ..cut holes for speaker before you cut the mounting plate out ...
