I have a HDC315 A series which means it has the american soft parts, upgraded suspension, and aluminum vc. This thing is a beast and can handle up to about

2.5k daily in the right application. I bought this woofer back in the summer of 08 and had it in my car but AQ didnt glue down the spider properly so I sent it back and they reconed it for me. It hasnt even been mounted yet despite the look of the mounting ring, the holes for the screws arent even drilled yet. These are 330+shipping directly from AQ. I think they also charge a base cost of shipping of like 45 dollars. This sub is in prime condition and looking for a new owner //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Dual 1 coils. 15"

290+ shipping

that's weird? An Aluminum coil AQ with the cone touching the spider??? Not usually a triple joint on the HDC3-A? Normally same setup as DD 9500g series, same buildhouse and all?

When did ya get the sub?

Read earlier in the thread and you'll find your answer, DJ changed the suspension, This is the newest version you can call him and ask. Yes this sub was built in the same build house as every other AQ sub oreded directly from AQ...

I talked to DJ he said triple joints are a thing of the past and that the A coil series has the cone cut shorter so that the entire glue joint bonding the cone to the nomex wrapping on the former was now on top of the cone because they were having spiders torn under high excursion because of the triple joint glue bead. My AQ just turned 2 months old and I am assured by DJ it is the latest and greatest and all previous versions to this one used the chinese parts and bolt in spider landings. So I have no doubts that yours is the latest design, however, it is more than likely unique in the fact that it has a triple joint, you can call DJ and ask him that as well, lol. I talk to him quite regularly, as well as IA (Nick Wright) and RD (Steve Miller), You can call any of these guys and they know me, just say Phillip in VA sent ya. I am a jobby for DD thanks to Dave Broder which is how I know that the 9500g series uses the same glue joint locations and no triple joint. You have an anomaly kind sir, a copper coil looking Aluminum, lol. Be a fun way to upset the Copper guys with your spl numbers having them think it's a copper like theirs and you were still louder, lol. As for build houses, only the A coils are built in house the Coppers are assembled elsewhere. It is the new suspension, provable by the lack of the bolt in landing!

I have no doubt that is an aluminum coil or the current version, I was only saying the triple joint is unusual on the hdc3-A and whoever reconed it didn't do it like normal. lol. I've been using AQ for awhile now, The pics I put up of mine show the date of Manufacture (3/09) and also show that there is no triple joint normally on the sub. These are built side by side with the DD 9500g series subs which use the same assembly technique (no triple joint.) Not saying the sub isn't what you say it is, just saying it's not the average A coil assembly method for 09 models. You should post a pic of the serial # and DOM on the magnet and post it then those who know AQ as well as I do wouldn't be suspicious because of the difference in adhesion points. I totally believe it is an up to date, all American material version.

This is the same as yours If I turn the sub around on the other side you can see the former, IT is NOT GLUED to the cone the spider does not touch the cone look very closely at the picture, or I would be glad to take more to show you that is in fact assembled exactly as yours.
